Twyla contacted us about her Mother’s basement that was flooding and had water coming in through the walls. This issue had been going on for years and had gotten worse. What had started off as a leak in one corner has progress to water coming in along an entire wall. Also because this home was her mother’s Twyla was concerned about the potential harmful effect of radon on her mother’s health.
Basement & Radon Solutions started by putting in a Fast Drain dewatering system. Then we installed a Pro-Series PS-C33 Combination Backup and Primary Pumps in the right front corner of the garage (as looking at the front door). It protects against moisture, mold, mildew, humidity, and wall leaks. Moisture/water behind wall liner drains into the Fast Drain system. Then, we installed a radon suction line in the basement slab. After diagnostics for the system performance, a 5 diameter hole was drilled through the concrete slab to the earth below. There a suction pit was then created. A 4″ schedule 40 PVC suction line was installed in the slab. It was then sealed and was extended to the left exterior of the home. The radon fan was mounted on the rear exterior of the home. The radon vent pipe was then extended above the roof line. Lastly, we installed the manometer gauge (homeowner radon fan monitoring vacuum gauge) on the suction line pipe in the garage. Adding the radon system brought the radon gas levels down to 0.5 pCi/L! It was a pleasure helping Twyla get her Mother’s home happy, healthy, and safe!”
