Tori contacted us here at Basement & Radon Solutions, because she had some standing water in her basement.
Basement & Radon Solutions did a bit of work for Tori, here are the steps we took. *First part of the solution was applying spray foam at the rim joints. This prevents air infiltration (unlike fiberglass insulation) and insulated the wood band plates.*We then installed a 90-mil ThermalShield wall liner. It is Class A rated with a near zero perm rate. *Following the wall liner, we installed our heavy duty 20-mil Dimpleshield ground liner. This liner acts as a vapor barrier and protects from punctures, wear & improves water movement. *Next, we put in a 4 suction pipe in the event the home is tested for radon in the future & is found to be elevated. *To reinforce the ground we also installed a 15-mil barrier. It is 100% woven reinforced vapor barrier. Our woven ground and wall liners are antibacterial, meaning mold and other organic growth will not grow to our liner. *Lastly, we installed an Aprilaire energy star dehumidifier. It removes up to 95 pints of moisture per day! Along with a remote Hygrometer that was mounted in the basement to accurately read the humidity. It was a pleasure helping Tony make his home happy, healthy, and safe! “
