Basement & Radon Solutions was able to install a Sub-Slab mitigation system in Tim’s basement before their closing deadline! The goal of this radon mitigation system is to remove the radon gas from under the slab before it enters the finished portion of the home. We installed the first part of the system in the basement slab located in the left rear closet. (When doing basement radon systems we often connect the system into the slab of a closet in order to keep the piping out of eyesight for homeowners) From the suction pit a 4 schedule 40 PVC suction line was then installed in the slab, sealed and then extended to the left rear exterior of the home. Then the radon fan was mounted on the left rear exterior of the home. The radon vent pipe was extend above the roof line to help expel the radon gas safely. Then, the manometer gauge (homeowner radon fan monitoring vacuum gauge) was installed on the suction line pipe in the garage for easy viewing. Installing this mitigation system brought down the radon gas level to 0.7pCi/L! It was a pleasure helping Tim make his home happy, healthy, and safe for a new family!”
