Basement & Radon Solutions installed a Sub-Slab radon mitigation system in Thomas’s basement. The radon suction line was installed in the 2 basement slabs. After diagnostics for system performance, a 5 diameter hole was drilled through the concrete slabs to the earth below. This is where the suction pit was then created. A 4″ schedule 40 PVC suction line was installed in the slabs, sealed and was extend to the rear exterior of the home. The radon fan was mounted on the rear exterior of the home. Then, the radon vent pipe was extended above the roof to help expel the gas safely. Then, the manometer gauge (homeowner radon fan monitoring vacuum gauge) was installed on the suction line pipe in the garage for easy viewing. By installing this mitigation system, we were able to drop the radon to 0.7pCi/L! It was a pleasure helping Thomas get his home ready for selling and making it happy, healthy, and safe!”
