Basement & Radon Solutions installed a radon mitigation system in Susan’s basement. A 5 diameter hole was drilled through the concrete slab to the earth below, a suction pit was then be created. A 4″ schedule 40 PVC suction line was installed in the slab and sealed. Then, the suction line was extended to the basement. Then, a radon suction line was installed in the ground of the basement. The suction line was then connected to the basement suction line. Then, extended to the rear exterior of the home. This is where the radon fan was mounted on the home. Then, the vent pipe was extended above the roofline to expel the radon gas safely. After that, a manometer gauge (homeowner radon fan monitoring vacuum gauge) was installed on the suction line pipe in the basement. A varmint and rain guard PVC exhaust cap was installed on all the exterior radon system. These prevent rain, debris, small animals and birds from entering the vent pipe, guarding and extending the life of your radon system. This sub-slab/sub-membrane mitigation system reduced the radon levels to a safe 1.4 pCi/l! It was a pleasure helping Susan make her home happy, healthy & safe! “
