Sue was in the process of selling her home and she had a radon test done previously to see if her current radon mitigation system was working. It came back elevated to 5.8 pCi/L! Sue had a radon mitigation system put in the home when she bought it about 5 years ago. That system was no longer working. Sue was so pleased by our customer service, she did not want to hire anyone else for the job!
Basement & Radon Solutions tore out the old radon mitigation system and put in a new sub-slab radon mitigation system in for Sue. We drilled a hole into the slab all the way to the earth to create a suction pit. From the suction pit we installed 4 piping up and out to the exterior of Sue’s home. Did you know that 4 inch pipe is up to 33% more effective than 3 inch pipe? Once the piping is outside it is connected to the radon fan. This radon fan works with the suction pit to draw out the radon gas from under the slab before it enters the living space of Sue’s home. From the radon fan the ventilation pipe is then extended to over the roofline where the radon gas is expelled safely. We also installed a vacuum gauge called a Manometer. This will allow Sue and future owners to monitor the radon mitigation system. We also also did a 48 hour radon test after the new system was installed. This radon test came back at 2.0 pCi/L! It was such a pleasure to help Sue get her home ready to be sold and making it happy, healthy, and safe! Sue left us a 5 Star Google Review!
