Basement & Radon Solutions installed a sub-membrane radon mitigation system in Sidney’s crawl space. A 4 radon depressurization suction line was installed in the crawl space. The suction line was extended through the ceiling and into the attic of the home. Then the radon fan (HP220 radon fan R3) was installed in the attic of the home. Then the radon fan vent pipe from the fan was extend to just above the roof so the gas can be expelled safely. A varmint and rain guard PVC exhaust caps were installed on the exterior radon system. This will prevent rain, debris, small animals and birds from entering the vent pipe, guarding and extending the life of Sidney’s radon system. If desired the exterior system can be painted in the future for added aesthetics. After that, we installed a 9 mil white 100% woven reinforced vapor barrier to the ground of the crawlspace. This liner is mechanically fastened to the foundation walls, piers. And then all lap joints were sealed with tape manufactured specifically for our liners to prevent moisture and retard soil gas penetration. This helped get the radon gas levels down to 1.2pCi/l! It was a pleasure helping Sidney make his home happy, healthy, and safe!”
