Basement & Radon Solutions installed a Sub-Slab Horizontal Exterior radon mitigation system for Sharon and her client. The radon suction line proposed was installed on the left exterior of the home. A diagnostics test was performed to analyze the pressure extension field below the slab. After diagnostics for system performance, a 5″ diameter hole was drilled through the left end foundation wall to just below the interior concrete slab. Here is where a suction pit was then created. A 4″ schedule 40 PVC suction line was installed in the foundation wall and sealed. The radon fan was mounted on the exterior of the home with the vent pipe extending to just above the roofline to expel the radon gas safely. Varmint and rain guard PVC exhaust caps are installed on all Basement & Radon Solutions exterior radon systems that prevent rain, debris, small animals and birds from entering the vent pipe. This is guarding and extending the life of the radon system. If desired, the exterior system can be painted in the future for added aesthetics. Lastly, we preformed a post mitigation test that came back at 1.2 pCi/l!
It was a pleasure helping Sharon and her client to make this home happy, healthy & safe for the new owners!
