Basement & Radon Solutions, BRS Pros, installed a radon mitigation system for Rebecca. We started by adding a radon suction line in the basement slab. A 5 diameter hole was drilled through the concrete slab to the earth below where a suction pit was then created. A 4″ schedule 40 PVC suction line was installed in the slab and sealed. Then the suction line was extend to the crawlspace. A radon suction line was installed on the ground in the crawlspace, our radon vapor barrier covers the suction line and the earth in the crawlspace. The suction line was connected to the basement suction line and was extend to the rear exterior of the home. The radon fan was mounted on the rear exterior of the home with the vent pipe extending to above the roof to expel the radon gas safely. A manometer gauge (homeowner radon fan monitoring vacuum gauge) was installed on the suction line pipe in the basement. A varmint and rain guard PVC exhaust caps were installed on all Basement & Radon Solutions exterior radon systems. This is to prevent rain, debris, small animals, and birds from entering the vent pipe, guarding and extending the life of Rebecca’s radon system. If desired the exterior system can be painted in the future for added aesthetics. Lastly, we preformed a post mitigation radon test that came back at 0.9 pi/L! It was such a pleasure to help get Rebecca’s new home safe, healthy, and happy!”
