Basement & Radon Solutions installed a radon mitigation system to the inside of Mark’s basement. A 5 diameter hole was drilled through the foundation wall in the crawl space. A suction pit was then created. A 4″ schedule 40 PVC suction line was installed in the slab and sealed. The suction line was extend to the crawl space. A radon suction line was installed on the ground in the crawl space. Our radon barrier will cover the suction line and the earth in the crawl space. The suction line was then connected to the basement suction line and was extend to the left exterior of the home. The radon fan was then mounted on the left exterior of the home with the vent pipe extending to above the roof to expel the radon gas safely. After that, a manometer gauge (homeowner radon fan monitoring vacuum gauge) was installed on the suction line pipe in the crawl space. A varmint and rain guard PVC exhaust caps are installed on all Basement & Radon Solutions exterior radon systems that prevent rain, debris, small animals and birds from entering the vent pipe.
