Basement & Radon Solutions installed a sub-membrane radon mitigation system in Kathrine’s crawl space. A 4 radon depressurization suction line was installed in the crawl space. The suction line was extend to the right exterior of the home. The radon fan was installed on the right exterior of the home. The radon fan vent pipe from the fan was extend to just above the roof line to expel the gas safely. A varmint and rain guard PVC exhaust caps were installed on the exterior radon system to prevent rain, debris, small animals and birds from entering the vent pipe. Using this it will be guarding and extending the life of Kathrine’s radon system. If desired the exterior system can be painted in the future for added aesthetics. Then we installed a 9 mil vapor barrier to cover the crawl space floor and it was mechanically fastened to the foundation walls. Lastly, we installed the manometer. This is a vacuum gauge installed on the radon vent pipe. It’s a monitoring gauge to insure the radon fan is operational. By doing this we brought the radon gas levels down to 0.8 pCi/l! It was a pleasure to help Kathrine make her home happy, healthy, and safe!”
