Basement & Radon Solutions installed a sub-slab radon mitigation system for Jason. The goal of this system is to vent the radon gas from under the basement slab before it enter the finished living area of the home. In the basement closet a 5 diameter hole was drilled through the concrete slab to the earth below, where a suction pit was then created. A 4″ schedule 40 PVC suction line was installed in the slab, sealed and then extend to the left exterior of the home. The radon fan was then mounted on the left exterior of the home. Then the radon vent pipe was extend above the roof line to expel the radon gas safely. After that, we installed the manometer gauge on the radon suction line pipe in the basement. This is a homeowner radon fan monitoring vacuum gauge- as long as the colored liquid inside the U-shaped tube is uneven the radon fan is working! The radon fan also came with a 5 year manufactured warranty! By installing this radon mitigation system we were able to bring Jason’s radon level from 3.1 to 1.3! It was a pleasure helping Jason make his home healthy, happy, and safe!”
