Basement & Radon Solutions, BRS Pros did quite a bit of work for Eric & Cherie. Here are the steps we took to help them.*We first fogged the crawl space with a EPA registered fungicide that kills 99.9% of mold spores & mildew. *We then applied spray foam at the rim joints. This prevents air infiltration (unlike fiberglass insulation) and insulated the wood band plates.*Next, we installed a Pro-Series Sump Pump. The system includes 1/3 HP cast iron primary pump with a dual float cage that protects debris from the float. Included, is a deluxe controller that monitors the pump and power conditions. It also will sound an alarm if problems are detected, such as high water. The pump also activates weekly to exercise and extend the pumps life. Pump capacity is 3200 GPH @ 10′ head with high efficient 5 amp pump motor. Sealed air resistance sump basin and in-line check valve. The sump basin has a top mounted patented air tight flood drain that will allow surface water into the basin from a broken plumbing line or a leaking water heater. *We then installed a 9-Mil White Reinforced Wall Liner, it is 100% woven. Followed by a fiberglass blanket insulation with a white vapor barrier to the foundation walls. The insulation is 4 thick which offers an R-13 insulation factor. It was hung approximately 6″ from the top of the interior masonry foundation wall to provide the space for a termite inspection and will cover wall to approximately 4″ off the ground. A reinforced 9-mil wall vapor barrier was then mechanically fastened to the foundation wall, prior to fiberglass insulation to prevent any moisture/condensation from wall to contact insulation. *Followed by a 15-mil white 100% woven reinforced ground liner. It was nailed/sealed approximately 6″ to 12″ above the ground to the foundation wall. *We then installed a radon piping system below the ground liner, the piping system is used in the future if the home is tested for radon gas and requires a complete radon system. The ground liner will also help control moisture, vapor and dampness from the ground. Thus, creating our Radon Ready System. *Lastly, we installed an Aprilaire residential humidification system. The Aprilaire dehumidifier is Energy Star rated and delivers 23% annual energy savings above conventional products. Its high-capacity is designed to control humidity in their crawl space. To finish we mounted a Remote Humidity Sensor- Hygrometer to the crawl space. This will help them monitor the effective humidity of the dehumidifier in the crawl space. It was a pleasure helping Eric & Cherie make their home happy, healthy, and safe! “
