Basement & Radon Solutions installed an Encapsulated Radon Mitigation system for Edward. We connected the existing radon piping system that was installed below our encapsulated ground liner to a 4″ PVC suction pipe that was extended to the left exterior of the home. This is where the radon fan was installed. The radon vent pipe was mounted to the left exterior wall and terminates above the roofline to help expel the gas safely. The manometer gauge (homeowner radon fan monitoring vacuum gauge) was installed on the suction line of the system in the basement for easy viewing. Radon System Alarms – Radon System Alarms are now required on all newly installed residential radon systems. This unit is a vacuum monitoring device utilizing piezo resistive pressure sensor (PPS) technology. This alarm will provide an audible and visual indication to alert the homeowner when the radon system is not moving sufficient air in the event of a power loss to the system. Lastly, we preformed a post mitigation test that came back at 0.6 pCi/l!
It was a pleasure helping Edward again is making his home happy, healthy, & safe!
