Chandler & Lauren contacted us about the home they were buying. It needed some work for it to be ready to be moved in.

Basement & Radon Solutions did quite a bit of work for Chandler & Lauren. Here are some of the work we did in their crawl space-1. Added 5 carbon fiber straps from Fortress to the walls in the crawl space. Fortress carbon fiber/Kevlar unidirectional carbon fiber straps were installed vertically along interior and exterior foundation cracks on front and left crawl space walls. The foundation wall was scarified and cleaned smooth where the straps are located on the wall. High strength epoxy was then applied to the wall and straps. The straps may be painted in the future for aesthetic purposes.2. We installed a Fast Drain that is connected to our Pro-Series Sump Pump. Installed the Sump Pump basin with a removable (flush with floor) lid covered with stone in the right front corner of the upper level crawl space (as looking at the front door)(see diagram). The system includes 1/3 HP cast iron primary pump with a dual float cage that protects debris from the float. Included is a deluxe controller that monitors pump and power conditions and will sound an alarm if problems are detected and/or a high water warning in the sump. Additionally, it activates the pump weekly to exercise and extend the pumps life.3. Then, we installed our Thermal Shield. The Thermal Shield is a metal foil faced reflective wall liner with a plastic moisture barrier. The wall liner is mechanically fastened/sealed to within 6 of the top of the crawl space foundation wall. Thermal Shield is 90 mil thick, Class A Fire Rated with a near zero perm rate. Thermal Shield reflects the natural occurring heat generated in the crawl space away from the foundation walls to provide a much warmer space.4. We then installed a dehumidifier. It is an Aprilaire 1820. This model will remove up to 70 pints per day! Also proudly made in the USA and carries a 5 year manufactures warranty. 5. Lastly, we installed a Hygrometer. This is a remote temperature and relative humidity meter stand alone unit with one remote sensor. The wireless remote sensor was mounted in Chandler & Lauren’s crawl space to give them an accurate reading of the relative humidity. This product will help them monitor the effective humidity of the dehumidifier in the crawl space.It was a pleasure helping Chandler & Lauren get there new home happy, healthy, and safe!”
