Basement & Radon Solutions helped Ashley out by waterproofing her basement and lowering her radon gad levels. Here is how it went…1. We installed our Fast Drain dewatering system. It is a sub-floor dewatering system on the front, right and left walls to just before the well pressure tank of the basement.2. Installed our Thermal Shield silver vapor barrier. Our Thermal Shield is a metal foil faced reflective wall liner with a plastic moisture barrier against the wall. 90 mil thick, Class A Fire Rated, near zero perm rate. Thermal Shield reflects the natural occurring heat generated in the basement away from the foundation walls to provide a much warmer space.3. We installed a Sub-Slab radon gas mitigation system in the basement for Ashley. The radon suction line was installed in the basement slab. After diagnostics for system performance, a 5 diameter hole was drilled through the concrete slab to the earth below. A suction pit was then created. A 4″ schedule 40 PVC suction line was then installed in the slab, sealed and then extend to the exterior of the home. The radon fan was mounted on the exterior of the home. Then the radon vent pipe was extend above the roof to safely expel the radon gas.4. Lastly, we installed a Manometer. The Manometer gauge (homeowner radon fan monitoring vacuum gauge) was installed on the suction line pipe in the basement. This vacuum gauge installed on radon vent pipe is to help Ashley make sure the radon fan is operational.5. By doing all of this we also brought down Ashley’s radon gas levels down to 0.8 pCi/L!It was a pleasure helping Ashley make her home safe, happy, and healthy!”
