Basement & Radon Solutions installed a Sub-Slab Horizontal Exterior Radon Mitigation System. The intention of the system is to safely remove the radon gas from beneath the slab before it gets into the finished living area of the home. In order to do this we drilled through the left end foundation wall to just below the interior concrete slab. In this area a suction pit was then created. A 4 schedule 40 PVC suction line was then installed in the foundation wall and sealed. The radon vent pipe was installed on the right exterior of the home along with the radon fan. Near the radon fan we installed a Manometer. This gauge will allow Andy to make sure his radon fan is working. All of our radon fans come with a 5 year manufacture’s warranty! This vent pipe extended to just above the roof line so that the radon gas can be expelled safely. A varmint and rain guard PVC exhaust caps were also installed. These prevent rain, debris, small animals and birds from entering the vent pipe, guarding and extending the life of the radon system. If desired in the future, the exterior system can be painted for added aesthetics. We also conducted a post radon mitigation test that came back at 0.2 pCi/L! It was such a pleasure helping Andy make his home happy, healthy, and safe!”
