Basement & Radon Solutions installed a Sub-Slab radon mitigation system in her basement/garage. The radon suction line was installed in the right rear closet of the basement slab. After diagnostics for system performance, a 5 diameter hole was drilled through the concrete slab to the earth below. This is where a suction pit was then created. A 4″ schedule 40 PVC suction line was installed in the slab and sealed. Then, the pipe was extended to the rear exterior of the home. The radon fan was mounted on the rear exterior of the home. The radon vent pipe was then extend above the roof line to expel the radon gas safely. After that, we installed a Manometer. The Manometer gauge (homeowner radon fan monitoring vacuum gauge) was installed on the suction line pipe in the basement for easy viewing. After installing the mitigation system the radon gas level was down to 0.8 pCi/L. It was a pleasure helping Alexandra make her home healthy, happy, and safe!”
